  Social

your canyons, america

There is no way to say this.

The soldiers face is riding
sadness like a clock
bridging over gap and maw
over dove and flag
flapping furiously america
the beautiful burlesquing
voice bottled up forever
with bullet bomb and blood
that runs too thin, too thick,
too smoothly over the white
tiled floor of every church
and school.

What can we say america?

The truth is a carbine
splintered forever.
The truth is an old mans
hand scrubbed bloody
trembling in a new age
with new thoughts
where no one cares
who you fought
or who you lost
or why
or why
there is no reason
to wake sweaty sick
afraid from their beds
when the silent bombs go off
like tear drops in the pale
blue light of the moon.

The truth is

The voices pledge
the voices pledge
the dirty, severed tongue
swallowing its own spit
and come
The voices pledge
shave heads
forget names
bound metal
with metal
with fear
with frozen in your socks
over the top
on the rocks
fear
cussing and spitting
their pledge their
come and water
in their beds

Nothing. It means nothing.

Fingers press cautiously on your
belly america
slipping down your skirt america
touch and tremble your moist
disease your wilted cancerous flower
america
you call freedom and love.

My fingers will not cross your states
lightly america
they will dig into flesh and ground
they will not couple suck your breasts america
they twist and pull
they will not dip gently into
your canyons america
they gouge and pull and
***** you america

they will cry whore
you whore america
you greedy
trying slut
with your colors with your
songs and your slogans

you make me sick america
I love you
you make me sick
you are the sister whore
to the brother slut that you raised
and you will crumble to the ground by my hand.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
