nary a flare...
Now,
here and there, a
Sign
a warning burst has been cast
shielded eyes of
atheists, agnostics and
other faithless remnants
most are undesirable
and the onlookers will be blinded
foolish witnesses to the birth of shadow
whose shadow
dark and lovely hastens
to some unknown host
a host who has prepared the way
kept watchful of the world spin
and cycles of the moon
tidal ebb
waxing amenable
She
patiently waits in shadow
for the shadow
the flare has come and seared retinae
flare to portend shadow
flare, a portent
the ancient light is not the only way
the ancient light has not failed
witnesses have been unfaithful
still, the ancient light remains
Interim alliance,
shadow and light
Umbra abides
long after solar flares
here and there
solar consolation
lunar solace
coolly burned
vital embodiment
