Rebirth in a kiss

Contributed by Doriens_Picture on Monday, 13th June 2005 @ 11:50:59 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

There was once a graying statue

Frozen in light bound for ever

Destined to always be alone

It was a shell of what once was

Full of life glowing with a golden light

That shown through the night

It once lit up the world like stars

In the moment of their birth

But it felt no love and had no one

It did not know what it wanted

It did not have what it needed

So that light slowly dimmed and died

When it did no one cried

Not a single tear

And he was forgotten

left in a museum to watch the world

Till one day you came by

It saw how beautiful you were

It found you to be so easy to love

But it could not tell you so it wept

You saw those tears and felt the hurt

And like an angel you where there

With closed eyes and lips set to kiss

You kissed the statue on its cheek

And the shell started cracking

And a golden light shown through

Like a dieing sun it exploded

And from that chaos wings came through

Like a phoenix with flames of purple shades

I was reborn

Only to be loved by you
