Yes I fell in love with this man when I was 9 years old
And what he had that I loved was so much soul
We related physically and mentally
Always knew how to get through to me
Always happy when he was around
And when i was lost he knew where I'd be found
He was my first love surely
Never thought that throughout my life he would be there for me

Then he went from hair gel to braids
Wearin suits n shades
Spreadin the truth
Wasnt about gettin laid
Then
Things changed
He got caught up in the hype
And his life meaings changed
When it came to my soul he was the best kisser
Girl let me tell ya...I miss him

He used to be about stopping the violence
And teaching my history
Now hes got this whole hardcore aliance
And speakin about misery

His agent told him to change his image
Get a new gimic
Always smokin blunts
Getting crazy drunk
Sexin new girls everynight
Hes just not the same letting all these groupies do him
Lettin all these new people get to him
Takin his originality away
I used to love him you know
His flow his essence
Used to love just being in his presence

Now hes on the Tv screen promoting his next cd
He no longer needed me
He went from inspiring the soul to being all about show
From being broke
To being all about money
Keep askin myself "how could he do it"
What I'm speakin of is "Hip Hop music"

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
