They say a Mother’s love is unconditional
She’ll love you no matter what you do.
I’ve put you through the test time & time again, Momma
But still your love always shined through.
When I was young I didn’t understand
Why I couldn’t just do what I wanted to do.
But now that I have kids of my own I finally see
We always need Momma’s guidance to make it through.
I always admired how you kept things together
Any crisis you would conquer, any burden you would bear
Any type of storm you would weather
I always knew you would be there.
You worked so hard every day to make our house a home
Never failing once to say “I love you” to us all.
We knew we would never be alone.
I know even now all I have to do is call.
Mother, Father, Friend, confidant,
You were so many things all wrapped up in one.
But now I finally take the time to tell you, Mommy,
You’ve also been my warm, glowing sun.
