Numb rush

Contributed by In_a_While on Monday, 13th June 2005 @ 10:07:37 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

i sit in some tall grass, facing a black past
crows are flying overhead
the wind is still whipping, the end of trees ripping
the sky now bleeds over red

i stretch out my hand, to reach for black sand
then bury this body of skin
i'm leaving my bones dry, to let the tears not cry
my spirit's anorexic within

now i wander away, haunt life for dull play
then eat dumb flies from the web
i wake up with shivers, the pill still delivers
i brief numb rush to the head

but that's okay...

morning's are swell when i wake up in hell

dw

Well DW this was a good write but your mind is looking down the same path mine does. This line is my life everyday “morning's are swell when i wake up in hell”. Good write like always keep it up and I do look forward to more. Keep your head up there’s always tomorrow my friend and yes things will get better. Life is short just live your life and fulfill your dreams you only get one so make the best of it. Bye for now my friend….Steve

Very graphic, and loaded with powerful imagery. I, too, really like the line..."my spirit 's anorexic within...". What a powerful statement. Is that last line meant to be sarcastic, like why should mornings be any better?

Powerful write, very impressive

Will
