Not Quite what it Was...

Topic: oops

"I love you" she said

but she didnt mean it like she used to

she turned and ran spryly up the stairs, tripping on the second to top stair.

but i didnt laugh like i used to.

"we should hang out tomorrow" she said

but she didnt really mean it

and it was not mentioned again.

"I love you" she says "you are wonderful"

and for a fleeting moment, i think it means something..i think..it might not be empty...

but then she turns around and skips away like she always does.

and it meant nothing at all.

"I love you" I say

and i mean it with all of my heart, my soul, my self.

but she's already down the hall and she'll never hear it....

not that she would feel the same way anymore.
