I can see you're lost
looking for your soul
Wondering if you
have to bare it all
To be understood
in this lonely world
To be loved whenever
you want someone to hold
Half awake with
your eyes barely open
In a peaceful daze
dreams for what you're hoping
Let me be the star
you gaze upon
Let me be your sweet lullaby
I could tell you now
of the hardships yet to come
I could break your wings
so you will find none
But I can't protect you
from your destiny
So I will try to help you
become who you want to be
Half awake with
your eyes barely open
In a peaceful daze
dreams for what you're hoping
Let me be the star
you gaze upon
Let me be your sweet lullaby

This is a great poem. It is much different than the poem I wrote by the same name. I realized I haven't read poetry by you in a while and wanted to see how you were doing. |
