On a watch, she watched him from afar for a while
He was cooking, cleaning...whatever
She hoped for a chance where they could talk
Back room, front bar...wherever
But something held her hand told her not to go
That her future with guys was no more
Reminded of her shattered trust and love
She finished her chores and reached for the door
Little did she know if she stayed and believed
She would have finally found her gold
All she needed was an encouraging little push
For the end of her story to unfold
But unfortunately for her she lives in a cruel cruel world
On that will befriend you then kill you
She recieved no encouraging pat and left without knowledge
Of where her guy might or might not do
I understand how she feels I too experience hate
And anger and lies and fake pity
I know how it feels to be the only one who cares
In a freaking relentless city
So I, my friend, am giving you that pat
You go don't make him wait
This cruel cruel world is walking proof
You can't escape your fate
