bruises fade

Topic: AngryPoetry

once upon a time
there was a girl
who had to learn
to grow up w/ all the pain

it hurt to see
the marks of pain
across my back
once you were done

i would cry
up in my room
hoping
it would all be over soon

over time
bruises fade
but the pain
remains the same

i still remember
how you kept
me so afraid
over those years

every morning
that i wake
i look back
and im ok

ive been wondering
why i carry all this in
but its you
who helped me put up all these walls

dont you understand
the damage you have done
for you its just a memory
but for me it still lives on

Heartbreaking but powerful write. I hope the physical aspect of this is at least in your past...With time even the memories start to scab over...Take Care.
