Caught

Topic: SadPoetry

Close enough to touch but too far away to hold
A century from the miles between these two inches
You just stand away while I get cold
Lost in your bright shadows
Forever there and never here, I run
Towards a distant, non-existant
Mirage, fooled by this ever cruel sun
On and on forever, desperately towards you
Always striving, never finishing
I run to you, I run to us.
You stand still, shining, burning
And I am blinded by your light,
Not seeing you consumed by
Your frightening passion,
The golden web you weave, a lie.
I reach out drawn to your blaze and
Burn as I step inside, with you at last
But then I turn around and see
The whole world's there, entwined in your vast
Ardorous web and the only one to know,
To know we're all caught, is me.
Not even you will let yourself see...

Nice job...You drew me in with the first line; I can relate to that. You're a good writer...You express yourself well in your poetry. Keep it up!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
