I thought it would never happen again
We can't go back or even begin
We kissed on New Years Eve
I was hoping you'd never leave
So you didn't let me go
I held you tight and went with the flow
You backed up and smiled
I wanted to get wild
So I pulled you back to me
I couldn't let you go and be free
We were totally breaking one of our rules
Cause now I feel like a total fool
I don't know what you want or desire
Do you just want to light my fire?
Or do you want me for me
All that I am and what I can be
I don't want you to run away
If this is a game I don't want to play
You know what I want or even yearn
But when will it be my turn
You still have this lady in your heart
I know you two won’t break apart
So I'm back to where I started once more
If I can't be your women then I wont be your whore
Sorry I meant that but not in that way
This sort of thing doesn't happen to me everyday
I used to dream about this at night
Then it was great but now it’s not right
So I guess it will just have to be in my mind
My imagination, my wants, a moment in time
To me that kiss seemed like an infinity
One that will have to last for an eternity
