Sidewalk Cracks
~~~~~
Every crack in the sidewalk
Tells a story of the people who came its way
People of every race and color
Leave a trace as the go about their day
Some are in a hurry
While others take their time
Some are rather pushy
While others are very kind
Once this sidewalk saw a father
Hurrying his little son
Holding him by the arm
He almost made him run
And all the sudden their was a cry
As the boy fell on the ground
Leaving a stain of blood
In a little reddish mound
Over time the rain did pour
Washing that stain away
But to the crack in the sidewalk
The memory of the boy did stay
Years came and went
And that little boy was now a man
And that crack was amazed
For once again that boy did stand
All alone in the crowd
Almost afraid of his own skin
That crack felt his heart
Was going to break again
For even years could not erase
A neglected little boy
Whose father didn’t take the time
To notice his little joy
Could that little boy have been you ,Jeff? A very nice observation, and account of what you peceived. There's a few cracks in your meter here and there, but overall a very nice piece. Bravo, SidneyCid
