A dozen sorry roses.

Topic: SadPoetry

" I love you daddy"
the little girl said
as her father
tucked her into bed.
"I love you too"
her father said
as she put her hands under her pillow
and rested her head.

Such a relationship they had
a daughter and a father
nothing could get in the way
their love was like no other.

As the little girl grew
her fathers attitude ran cold
he began to hit her mother
and he even hit her too.

He began to drink more
as the days went by
sometimes passed out on the floor
she'd sit alone and wonder why.

She hates her dad
She's almost sure he hates her too.
But deep down theyre both really sad
theyre relationship is dead
their love is too.

She came home from school
to see her father moving out
her mother calling him a fool
she didn't even want to know
what this was all about.

Her mother was sick of him cheating
all the fighting
and all of the beating.
She wanted to say good-bye
but it was to late
her father was already leaving.

3 Years later her mother got sick
and she was going to die
everynight before she went to sleep
she'd lay there and just cry.

She went to set things straight with her father
but he had one to much to drink
she got a mouth full of rusty water
when he tried to drown her in the sink.

She ran home
scared, her heart racing the hole way
when he called to say he was sorry
she didn't know what to think or say.

She wrote her dad a letter
explaining how she felt
and how her life would have been better
if she wasn't given the cards she was delt.

She told him how he ruined her life
and she missed how things used to be
and how she cut herself with a knife
it feels good to bleed.

Her father spent hours
trying to write im sorry in poetry form.
He bought her a dozen flowers
and hopes it mends her heart that was torn.

She was sharpening the blade
he was loading the gun
they love they had was at a dark fade
life was just no longer fun.

She put the knife to her wrist
he put the gun to his head
their lives both at risk
theyd both rather be dead.

she twisted the knife
he pulled the trigger
there goes her life
his couldnt have gone quicker.

They both died together
on the same day
They never knew they still loved each other
a perfect love thrown away.

He never got her letter
with the words she truely ment.
She never got the dozen roses
saying sorry that he sent.

Girlie, girlie, girlie! Since you are angry at your father, I can't guage how much of this is fiction and how much has actually your reality. However if any of it is real for you, I am terribly sorry. Writing when you are angry is a good thing - it is far more soothing than a blade, a bullet, or turning to the bottle, and certainly safer too!
Everyone has skeletons in their closet, sunshine. If you have ever read my work you can pull out most of mine. What I take from this poem that I am sure of is that you ARE very angry at him and hurt more than angry.
I think I was pulled into reading this after your note that it was about your father, because I lost mine on April 25th, this year. The saddest thing is that I only met him almost four years ago. I grew to love him to peices and miss him but the thing is before meeting him I hated him. and he was just so easy to love. He was only 53 -
And my real point is that life is so short honey and one of two things needs to happen for you to heal - if your father is alive, take him a "dozen sorry roses" and give it a try. If he lets you down this time, then you tried and it is his loss. If he really is dead as your words suggest then I am completely wrong in this my longest comment ever and you can just forget everything I just said - LOL
Let it go, write about your pain, and heal no matter how long it takes!

This was so gutwrenching.... Heartbreak is worded well, and a horrible heartbreak at that. May your hear heal. May most of this be ficcion, I pray. And may it stay that way.
Take care.

I was drawn to read and read again the entire poem.
I don't know how much is true or if its just fiction.
You really did a great job in writting this peace and it is sure to touch the feelings of all who read it.
May peace and happiness always be with you.
