The Basement

Contributed by suesan on Thursday, 9th June 2005 @ 08:22:30 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The room is calm, cold, damp, and wet
My heart pulsates, My head drips with sweat
I close my eyes and breath in deep
And with opened eyes,I see a broom start to sweep
My head feels ill
I grab my pill
A rat scurries by a bucket of paint
I fall to the floor and begin to faint
Awaken by a sharp pain across my hip
Sweat begins to run down my chilled lip
I lift my self up and forward to view
Im scared, scarred, alone, and without a clue
I see a shadowy figure in squatting position
It moved and danced with such precision
It didn’t seem real, How it gallantly did move
It played a song that was strong nor smooth
(Dazed and confused, I don’t know the time)
His eyes yellow and voice thunder ruff
As he exhaled he blew a puff
He whispered to me, Standing very near
“If you want to live get out of here”
