the woods were dark that night
darker than theye have ever been
i looked down at my watch
it was getting close to ten
the air smelled of pine
a thick fog covered the ground
so quickly i was lost
with no hope of being found
the wind was blowing softly
and the moon was full and bright
and clearely i could see a person
in the dim night time light
my palms were sweating
my stomach was turning
my heart was beating wildly
my blood was churning
i closed my eyes
and it didnt take long
to open them again and the creature was gone

I like this poem, it really evokes emotions and the senses. My favorite line was 'the air smelled of pine.' Great job, keep on writing! |
