My Little Angel Makayla

Contributed by TN_Angel67 on Thursday, 9th June 2005 @ 08:33:50 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

No prewritten poem of rhyming words can say,

How much I love & miss you each and every day.

I only got to hold you one sweet time,

But from that moment on, Dear Granddaughter, you were mine.

Once I looked into your lovely face,

I knew no one could ever take your place.

I know there will be another grandchild one day,

One I’ll watch laugh, cry, & play.

And that grandchild will have just as much love,

As my little angel, Makayla, in Heaven above.

Your Mommy & Daddy named you Makayla Sue,

After a Great Aunt who would have so adored you.

I wonder what you would be like if you were here today,

How would you look? What games would you like to play?

“Makayla” means “One who is like God”,

So, I guess He needed you for his Angel Squad.

And even though I don’t understand

Why He led you away by the hand,

I know one day I’ll get to see,

My little Angel, Makayla, smiling back at me.

But until that time comes I’ll just say,

“Goodbye for now, Granny will see you again some day”.

Too short a life, no time to live at all.Why some people live for a long time and others barely at all I will never understand.
At least your poetic tribute will be a lasting memory
Sorry for your loss

Steve
