Stress cracks growin' deeper by the minute
How much more do you think it’s gonna take?
The picture ain’t so clear when you’re in it
Better watch your step, ‘cause something’s gonna break
The temperature around you is fallin’ faster
Everything becomes more brittle when it’s cold
The path you’re on is headed towards disaster
And the tune that you been singin’s getting’ old
Walking On Thin Ice
Is it worth the price you’re payin’?
Walking On Thin Ice
What’s the sense in stayin’
On that Thin Ice?
Gotta pull yourself together
‘Cause you can’t stay there forever
And there ain’t no way to always beat the dice
When you’re Walking On Thin Ice
Walking On Thin Ice
Wonder how you missed those signs of warnin’?
You know I still see them everywhere I turn
Do you think that you can hold out now till mornin’?
By my lessons I’d have thought you would learn
Walking On Thin Ice
It ain’t worth the price you’re payin’
Walking On Thin Ice
Ain’t no sense in stayin’
On that Thin Ice
Better pull yourself together
‘Cause you can’t stay there forever
And there ain’t no way to always beat the dice
When you’re Walking On Thin Ice
Walking On Thin Ice
When it breaks
You’ll go under
Get trapped in the dark
All you can hear
Is the sound of your heart
An’ if you get lucky
You’re pulled from the cold
And you’ll never forget
These words I once was told
Walking On Thin Ice
It ain’t worth the price you’re payin’
Walking On Thin Ice
Ain’t no sense in stayin’
On that Thin Ice
Gotta pull yourself together
‘Cause you can’t stay there forever
And there ain’t no way to always beat the dice
When you’re Walking On Thin Ice
Walking On Thin Ice

This was really good, it had awesome rhythm and flowed together nicely.
My favorite two lines were:
"Better pull yourself together
‘Cause you can’t stay there forever"
You did a sweet job on this song, and I'm glad I read it! I look forward to
seeing and reading your future work too!

Wise words from a wise friend. Magnificent flow, cheri. As I read, even for the 5th time, the words seemed to freeze my soul, my heart, and only for a fleeting moment, I was dead... a frozen corpse with just the memory of that chilling hymn...
Walking On Thin Ice
When it breaks
You’ll go under
Get trapped in the dark
All you can hear
Is the sound of your heart...
Damn, Naz.... you've done it again, douce ami. A brutally honest piece of perfection, as always! You just don't stop, do ya? lol. Merci beaucoup for sharing your sagacity, and of course, your divine masterpiece. I'll heed your expressions for as long as I live. Absolutely beautiful, my friend. Flawless. All my love. Forever,
Your dear friend/avid fan/petite fleur,
Stephy! |

Naz,
I too, could hear it as I read it. I think that would mean it's pretty remarkable! Great piece Nazzy. If you want it set to Country music, I have a few connections in that genre. Seriously. Loved it!

I like this part the most...
When it breaks
You’ll go under
Get trapped in the dark
All you can hear
Is the sound of your heart
An’ if you get lucky
You’re pulled from the cold
And you’ll never forget
These words I once was told
Amazing Nazzy.

Hi Naz, good to see you posting again. In terms of this song, I think it's great! I normally don't carry a tune well, but I sing real good to this one. :) Really, I think this could be in the top 10.
Superior work of art, my friend!

Ain't many as can write a song like you can, Scott. This is very good, full of rhythm and the perfect choices for words, it seems to me. Very meaningful as well. Most excellent.
