After Prom

Contributed by CodyJ on Tuesday, 7th June 2005 @ 07:52:42 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Buttons, skin, a torn off shirt,
a first time but it doesn't hurt.
Hush.
Stop the talking, begin to blush.
Rush.
Instinct action, instant passing
from motion to motion,
never lasting
for more than a moment,
like last spring's fashion.
Pace quickens.
Race begins.
Contestants hurdle,
like kids in a wind.
Brace.
Impact, contact,
last seconds
of a lonesome pact.
Release eases
time untill it freezes,
a Kodak moment
of a thing that pleases.
Keep the memory
in a deep place,
for when it's done
all that's left is
a smiling face.
And sleep.
