Where from here?

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I’m so confused
I’m not sure how much more of this I can stand
You say you want to be with me
You say we can make it work

But then it seems as though I’m doing everything
You’re making no effort
You never call me, or at the least return my calls

I feel as though you are living two lives
One here, the one with me
And the one down there, where you’re from
But when you’re down there I feel as though I’m not part of it
I feel as though you don’t want me to be
As though I’m some type of secret or something

But there is something there
Something that keeps me waiting around for you
Something that keeps me hoping things will be okay
You are the first guy I’ve opened my heart to in awhile
You are the first guy I’ve trusted too

So do you want to ruin it all now?
Do you really want to throw it all away?
You say you care, and deep down I think you do
But you have a funny way of showing it

Are you afraid like I am?
Or is there something you aren’t telling me?
Why are you running away?
Why are you holding back?

All my friends say I should just drop you, I don’t deserve this
But part of me is still holding on
Holding on to what I think is worth it

You’re the first person I run to with good news
First person I run to with a problem
First person I run to when I want to feel safe
I want nothing more than to be in your arms
For you to tell me that everything will be okay

But for the time being I’m unsure
I’m afraid to let myself get in any further and get hurt
I don’t know what you want from me
I don’t know what you want out of all of this

So for now Ill just wait and see what happens
Where will we go from here??

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
