I've learned my lesson,
but not the one you taught me.
I opened my eyes,
But I didn't see what you described.
I thought you were right,
that it was me all the time.
Now i know.
You were the one who were wrong.
Endless hours,
throughout the nights.
Silent conversations,
of the mistakes that I've made.
Now I know better,
It wasn't me at all.
What you tried to teach me,
was the only thing hindering me.
You told me once,
that you were better.
Now I know for sure.
You are not.
The only thing left to say,
I tell you this now.
Don't be better,
just follow yourself.
You can't fight yourself,
without losing the battle.
Look at yourself,
don't say it's over.
You're doing that now,
which I've been doing for a decade.
You told me it were wrong.
Open your eyes.
The lesson is not: how not to be sad.
It's about how to be happy.
It's not about the consequense,
It's about the choice.
It ain't a shame,
to feel that way.
But it is indeed,
to ignore and deny.
