The Dream

The layers of time well up around me
Their colors
Their sound
This is the world reversed
Darker worlds swallowed by this curse
The binding darkness came to my eyes
As the color was drained from the skies
For a moment there was a reprieve
Just long enough so that I may breathe
Written upon a black monolith
A massive pillar that rose like a tomb
Words spoken from within the stone
"The stars some day shall tear themselves from the sky and the earth then, shall die.
All souls lost in the chasm of the sky will rise above the earth and cry forgotten
wisdom
Once heard then gone by. When planets align and the time is right so shall the winds of
change arise and spilling forth from their breasts the flow of life shall arrest."
So blackened was the sky that the vacuum of space did crumble
Into the heavens cascaded all the stars and open wide did the earth
Inversely proportioned the 65 towers did wait
Silent and deadly
Cold with the knowledge of all time passed
The fate of life, a single die cast
A procession of souls marched it’s outer rim
A beacon amongst the halo of lights
Silent and mournful, urging me closer
To the center of the infinite void
For the grandeur of time gone by
The souls of the all knowing dead
Glowing shades I did behold
Of the treasures of the nether life
Encased in radiant silver
That glowed golden in the dark
Never did I see
The phantoms that be
Laid forever silent alone

Pretty good, I'd almost dump the first and second stanza's or revive, they don't quite fit with the rest. To the rest though, engrossing imagery. |
