The End Of An Era

As I sit and watch the day go by
I ask why?
Does the day pass me by?
I sigh
The sigh of the end of an era, but why?
Why is there end?
Today?
Today I am new
I am whole
I am filled with joy, for today is the end of that era
The time where I was suppressed by my outward sanity
When all was lost and broken
When the world could take me
But today is the end of that era
And today I no longer dream
Dream of the end of an era
But pray for the world not to get sucked into my dream
And my rhyme scheme
