Hate, fate, truth, and lies

Contributed by SmokinJoeEvil on Friday, 3rd January 2003 @ 08:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

My tears through my veins,
And blood from my eyes.
Laid fallow the fields of the heart.
The end of the truth
And the start of the lies,
Worlds of light torn darkly apart.
When hate steals the soul
No peace brings it back.
With loathing I dare speak the name.
The last time still near.
The demon in black.
My memory certain my shame.
My weakness too great.
One wound and I'd fall.
No wish nor dream to make mend.
A tribute to fate,
And reminder of all
The things that truly don't end.

That line is one of my favorites! Unfortunately good metaphors like this seem to elude me more than they tend to seek me out. Thank you for your comment.
