When the first streams of light
Streak across the walls and
Touch on my face to
Let me know that
I have to wake up, I
Think of you and it is just how
I start my day
I kiss your picture
My fairy bride
And go about my morning the same way,
I have done since I met you
I wash my face and think of you
The taste of you across my lips reawakes when
The water kisses me as softly as you did
Almost as if it were your ghost
If it were I wish I
I wish I could kiss it back but can’t
I guess I have to wait till I kiss you again
Because I know that you will make it count
So I could feel it even days after we kissed
As if it were a recollection of a dream
One that I can remember when I wake
Like the ones I have of you
