Stranger, RIP

Contributed by dreamer_for_eternity on Sunday, 5th June 2005 @ 03:23:27 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

I’ve never met you
You’ve never heard of me
There’s no chance I’ll meet you
Since now you rest in peace

Although I didn’t know you
I’ve heard numerous tales
Sorrow seeks your blood
While you no longer prevail

And end of the most unexpected
Never assumed that day
And if you were still here on Earth
They wonder what you’d say

To turn back time
Is out of reach
As are you
Under eternal sleep

Just as the world
Was at your fingertips
It was ripped out of
Your unsuspecting grip

Leaving your daughters,
Abandoning your ex-wife
They know you didn’t mean to
An unintentional end to life

And I pray that your last days
Were days that you had cherished
Stranger, since you’re gone now,
Rest in peace, for you have perished

----
Dedicated to my best friend's father

Sad moments bring out such great art. Did real well with this poem. Powerful in its structure and verbiage. He is a stranger to us all, but he will be missed.
