Here I sit in this familiar place,
But I can't figure out where it is,
I've been here a lot,
But I just can't remember.
When I try all that comes to mind,
Is a burning where a young girl is on a cross,
Screaming as loud as she can,
But nobody's helping her,
Nobody is even sad.
There is a lot loud laughing,
As she goes up in flames,
Shouts and screams of a scorching girl,
Is all that I hear,
But why is this memory so clear.
I can taste the smoke,
I can feel the flames,
I can hear the laughter even now,
As I try to get the screams out of my head,
I feel the girl's pain,
I feel her heart,
As if I were her.
I hear her heart beat,
Until her pulse stops,
And then the laughter grows,
As five familiar faces appear.
But I can't remember they're names,
Nobody is mourning her death,
Nobody is even looking,
As her body becomes one with the flames,
Until there is nothing left of her.
But the screams don't fade,
Nor does her face,
I can make it out now,
The face is mine.
