The Angel i was looking for

Contributed by Amanda-Ruth on Sunday, 5th June 2005 @ 11:16:41 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

All my life i've been waiting for an angel to appear,
Its only now that i can see that i had one so very near.

It was that man i kissed so long ago, the one who kissed me goodbye,
The one who used to make me laugh, and the one who made me cry,

It was the man that i fell out with time and again, the one who made me sad,
The one who always made it up to me and left me feeling so bad

It was the man who wiped away my tears when i lost my dearest friend,
The one who held my hand so tight, and my heart, he tried to mend

It was the man who brought me breakfast in bed whenever i felt blue,
the one who i needed most of all, deep down you really knew

You see, i waited all that time you know and never really knew,
That the angel that i wanted so bad, i saw it all in you.

I guess now its way to late, to tell you that you were right,
You told me that an angel only existed, when you let one into your sight.

You see when i welcomed you into my life, you brought all your qualities too,
and its only now that i realise that the angel i was looking for..............

Was all in you!

This is really great! Nice wordplay and flow...I like the line; " You told me that an angel only existed when you let one into your sight..." Well done!
