New Year-
Same old you
And me trapped between
Who we are and who we want to be.
This year no mindless resolutions,
A sign that I am seeking solutions-
Please don’t let me leave you behind.
I want a new face to look at this life
While there is still time left to make things right
Leave your every burden outside of love’s door
You might see me in a light you’ve never seen me in before.
A new year, a new journey, a new chance,
To rekindle a tired romance?

| Julieete, this is a great write. A superb blend of melancholy and promise. Rekinidle an old romance? Sounds like old resolutions. How about kindle new romance, for the new you? One of many solutions, instead of resolutions. |
