Dearest Grandma

Topic: AngryPoetry

What is it Grandma?
I am looking at you,
Why have you forgotten my face?
Why are you trying to hit me?
I am talking to you Grandma,
But you’re only starring at me,
You’re fighting everyone around,
I try to understand “Why”
I can’t Grandma,

I want the old you,
I want you to recognize my face,
Come back Grandma?
Why are you fading away everyday?

I try to calm myself down,
I try to remember the happy times,
But NO!
I can’t stand seeing you fighting everyone,
You don’t even remember your children face,
Not even your grandchildren,
Grandma I cry watching this happen,
I don’t even want to see you anymore,
I suffer deeply,
Grandma, what is it?

My grandmother has alztimers or however you spell it. It is very sad. I hate it. She doesnt know me or my dad, her own son, anymore. I'm sorry you have to deal with it.

Yes,I cared for an Aunt and am now caring for my Mother who is starting into the first stages of it. They are doing the very best they can. They are scared and alone and their minds cannot clear the jumble. It is up to you to stay with them regardless so that they know they are not alone. It takes 24/7 care, constant attention and never let them out of your sight. You are the one that has to make the adjustment and deal with the problem. They cannot. God bless. Rita

I have tears running down my cheek right now..thats what Im going through..It hurts, but I know it's not her fault..She used to babysit me when I was little..I loved being with her..and now, she can't even remember my name..let alone who I am..
