By running water I shall rest,
by spring and pond or fountain...
where floods a crack where eagles nest
and washes down a mountain.
That steams a canyon's jagged walls
or thickened woods and doubles
around the peaks at waterfalls
with rainbow spray and bubbles.
Moistened moss clothe living rock
where running water gushes..
To running water bluebirds flock,
with cardinals and thrushes.
My vision's trapped where lightly flows
the mountain's rushing daughter...
For poems are revealed to those
who rest by running water.

Of course you know I was drawn to this piece for the title alone-
[you know of my love for water]
.. but what follows is as breathtaking as a summer sky just as the sun is setting. I have
found water of any kind, [lakes, rivers, streams, even rain] to be most inspiring and
this piece is obvious proof I am not the only one. The metaphors are so vividly beautiful.
The words flow as gently as water itself and commands as soft an inspiration. One of the
lovlier poems on nature I've read. Stunning !!
