The BlackBird Episode Book1 A Monsters Dream

My Debut Book In Bookstores Nation Wide
Sample Read:

The Blackbird

It was a rainy icy cold November in Memphis Tennessee
Frost froze the ground for as far as your eyes could see
People were eating there thanksgiving dinner and thankful to be alive
While on the other side of town a monster had arrived
Some folks had laughed and didn't believe that there could actually be
A demon with a face that kind of looked like you and me
But others knew that he was true they saw the vultures flying
Around the gritty city skies as if something was dying
Now do you truly realize what it means to be afraid
Paralyzed with fear of slipping into a early grave
A force so strong of blood and bones completely took control
Landed on a baby bird and flew off with his soul
The local press showed no interest on news they couldn't explain
They saw the signs but wrote them off as just a silly game
They didn't take the time to recognize the sky was filled with birds
And even through that stormy night there songs were all you heard.

This is a sample of the story that goes on throughout my book, between the poetry:

The Monsters Dream

"I love you, Texas, but I belong to the child."
I watched speechlessly as she fell to the floor grasping her midsection. Pain was written
all over her face. I did not know how to help her so I just stood there for what seemed to
be hours until she puked up another combination of blood and worms on and around my
bare feet. I knew that what I was watching on the floor of our bathroom was not my
precious April Mae. I had to do something to stop this madness. I had to end her misery.

I grabbed my precious April Mae by the ends of her beautiful brown hair. I could still
feel the softness and smell the sweet, sweet conditioner that she had used earlier that day..
That beautiful hair became a weapon. I yanked it harder and harder as her head banged
the cold, white ceramic tile bathroom floor. I am not sure how many times I pulled and
dropped her beautiful face into that cold, cold floor. I banged it and banged it until my
arms went limp. I wanted to beat whatever it was that had invaded her beautiful titillating
body. That beautiful body that caused the hair to stand up on my back. That body that
beat against mine so passionately night after night. I beat that face into the floor until her
body no longer showed any signs of life.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
