Swinging in the Rain

Contributed by happynikki on Wednesday, 1st June 2005 @ 06:17:21 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

walking in the park
looking at the sky
and it seems so dark
as i'm ready to cry

i watch the kids
as they play and have fun
just like i did
only for me that's all gone

i see people so happy
because they have each other
and i get so angry
because it feels like i can't get any better

i start swinging
it's my only getaway
i get higher and higher and i feel like i'm flying
and all my problems seem to go away

but then the rain starts dropping
everyone starts to run
and i keep on swinging
as i realize i'm the only one

i don't ever want to stop
because i don't want to deal with you
you're the one who put me through this crap
and you don't even realize you do

so i keep on swinging
in the rain
thinking and feeling all that you gave me
was just pain...

ok maybe i'm just over emotional today or somthing, but that seriously almost made me cry.
this poem was just so sad. there's some improvments that could be made, but this was still powerful and haunting.
great work.
