Childish Innocence

The more you learn
the more you fear.
Innocent happiness you must hold dear.
Before you knew what went on,
Your only worry was how bright the Sun shone
You didn't worry about terrorists or bombs.
Music is what represents you,
You were a happy song.
Children don't worry about the past,
They only know recess went by too fast.
Children live for the moment,
Their brains arn't boggled by bills or rent.
They say you learn from your mistakes,
The second time you worried about the consequences of eating chocolate cake.
Not the first,
You only wanted to quench your curious thirst.
If we put our lives together,
What would it be?
A bunch of little mistakes put together to make me.
What is self mutalation?
Along with mental disorders and mind confusion?
Too many things you've had to learn,
Broken dreams, and hearts you yearn
Physical pain is much easier to handle than Emotional pain,
Bleeding out
To feel child innocence again.

Emotional pain will mark ya for the rest of yer life...... that can never be healed again..only given a place in life from where ya move on.
Very good poem, and a huge truth level.
Children have not many things to worry about, they dont realise that as of yet but they will when growing older...then..like anyone else...they wish they were young again while they wished to be big when they were child.
Good poem, well done....

i have struggled with self mutalation and addiction and mental illness. i always think back to when i was a child and i always try to get the free feeling of not knowing pain. its too bad the only ways i can feel it is by doing things that arent good for me. thanks for sharing |
