Poem Spear And Blade

My sword is strength, my spear is song
upon the battlefield..
I challenge evil, fear and wrong
with laughter as my shield.
Unmatching strength in all it's blow
and words that take the part
shall overtake the proudest foe
as laughter gaurds my heart.
It shimmers bright where destitude
and evil's cloven through;
for many a bitter battle's proved
it's metal sound and true.
But when this strength and song are spent
as words becomed dismayed,
I'll forge a braver armament
of poem, spear and blade.

that was a great poem. Had a sort of old time feel to it, but that made it even better. I especially liked the last line,
I'll forge a braver armament
of poem, spear and blade.

a masterful write...vivid imagery of an archaic battlefield.
laughter...quite possible the strongest defense against most adversaries.

It is a wise exchange in time. When life is not so laughable and pain does seep on through. The mighty pen can slay the beasts so you can forge on through. Excellent piece of work.
