Missing the Love I Never Had

To the perfect one
I had been looking for you
Someone to love me
To be faithful and true
You took hold of my heart
And held it so dearly
I knew then that forever would come
And forever you would be near
But your compassion faded
Was it something I had done
I soon got that feeling
No more were we as one
Your hugs became nonexistant
The kisses to be only so short
It came to me in a heartbeat
That forever was no more
I still wish I could hold your hand
And kiss your tender lips
It is everything about you
That I want and that I miss

It's hard when one person loves more than the other does. Sadly so many of us can relate to something like that happening. This is a great poem you have here. Thanks for sharing this...
