In the misty moonlight,
My face appears cold,
Pale white.
I look up into the cloudy night,
Rub my arm,
Friction burn.
I’m freezing here upon this hill,
Out of sight,
Dark at night.
I hear a howl,
A screech,
A rustle.
I see a dark shadow,
On the leaves,
Upon the ground.
I’m cold and afraid and no ones around,
No where to be found,
Silence.
The noises have stopped and it’s eerie now,
Cruel silence,
Dead silence.
Although there’s silence I continue to stand still,
The wind blowing softly,
Through my hair.
I’ve calmed down now and don’t seem so afraid,
Nature with its deadly sounds,
Life is just pure silence.

Vivid imagery...poignantly expressed.
The mist of the night, the cold air...and the silence feel very real in here.
