|
Don't share the bath with the Reds,
they puff our their breasts
and strut around like Princes in court.
Don't rub shoulders with the Blacks,
they'll gorge themselves, gluttons devouring your lifeblood,
rife with strife they quarrel over emptiness.
Don't bask in the morning's warm red hues,
or beaks shall make you breakfast;
stay in the safety of the darkness, far beneath the surface.
But let's live together in this backyard forest,
you have your tree, I'll have mine,
and let's raise our children
on the ground's free bounty.
Let's share the water, but use it separately.
Let's quarrel and stand strong for ourselves,
but let's live together and grow.

Beautifully written poem... I wish I couldwrite
like this instead of always blathering about
depression and related ***** like that. Yeah I
liked this it had areally strong message
behind it which made it even better. I loved it
especially the last stanza.

You've the trait of a TRUE poet...
as much as any other I've read yet
as you are able to write indiscriminately
about anything..
This is true transference of emotion to poetry..

A true poet can take any subject
study it, put it on paper, and it is seen
through an entirely different light.

lol yes, I see those dudes too. and here.. cats and squirrels, dogs... birds.. all trying to take over the food and trees and fields... lol... i love to watch the little critters fight.. happily in life lol... I say, break it up you cuties.. I throw some love food at them.. yeah, I am a mommy caretaker of animals and also.. a huggie person to humans... I will feed you all.... love ya...hugs to you for a lovely poem..
