I watch the content people
With their beaming faces
How I wish I was one of them
With everything in place
They've got the right stuff
They know all the right moves
And everything they want to know
It has already been proved
The sun shines bright upon them
And the moon bestows its grace
Everywhere they cast their eyes
Fickle fortune shows her face
They never want nor need
They have all they could ever ask
Where others are forced to work
They are allotted the easiest task
Always kindness whenever called
And never shed a sadness tear
From pole to pole are kept safe
And east to west they never fear
Their clothes are stunning
They always look true vogue
Their cars never break down
And always stay on the road
They never trip on uneven streets
Never fall unless they mean to fall
Too relaxed to ever ever be stressed
And always have time to take a call
Their spouses are very successful
Strong and proud yet kind and caring
Their kids are the talk of the town
And can always be seen sharing
They are always optimistic
And see always on the bright side
They always help their neighbors
You can see a halo in the right light
They never worry about anything
Anything will turn out just fine
It is too bad that no it will not
They cannot see when they are blind
The halo becomes a fork and horns
Neighbors bring up complaints
Optimism turns so sour
They turn to devils from saints
Their kids are mean to friends
And much more so to each other
Their marriage falls to pieces
Kids lose a father or a mother
Their spouse is filled with hate
Discontent, mean, and full of doubt
Husband or wife now dislikes
The one they said "I cannot live without"
Stress creeps in from blurred edges
No time no time for anyone
They become unbalanced at all times
In danger always of a broken bone
Their cars are broken down
Unsafety follows where they go
Clothes no more look impeccable
Instead they look more like a hobo
Their flights are no longer on time
And start to drop out of the sky
Despairing tears fall thick and fast
Whenever seen, they begin to cry
Work now has an inescapable grip
On their mind and on their throat
Everything they'd ever need has gone
The house, the car, the fast boat
Fickle fortune now wears a mask
Where their eyes once beheld her
Sun and moon no longer shine
And in night sky, no sign of a star
They always ask questions
Yet never receive answers
Right moves are now death throes
Right stuff replaced by cancer
Everything is out of place
Gravity has been outlawed
Their perfection has dissolved
All that is left are their flaws
The content happy people
Faces showing only peace
They are no more and are gone
All of them are deceased

Your poem has a lot of meaning in it, and a lot of emotion as well. It expresses a lot of what goes on in society, as well as the opinions of people. The poem is however, quite long. You can make it significantly shorter by expressing what you want to in similar sentences in one sentence, by making different analogies that fit that meaning. It's a good piece though =D. |
