Drink Away The Loss

Grief

Liquid fire, it burns your memory from my mind
If oly for a little while
Dulls the voices in my head
And numbs the pain
I fell empty, incomplete
Lover, friend, soulmate
I search for solace every night
At the bottom of a bottle
And every night it eludes my grasp
God, why do you allow me to exist
Without my heart, I'm nothing
It died with his last faint breaths
Was laid to rest inside his grave
Mabey I can drown my emotions
Lose myself in artificial apathy
But the effects eventually fade away
I'll wake tommorrow
and find he's not beside me
Make it through the day pretending I'm alright
Then come home and pour myself a glass
And with every shot
try to chase his ghost out of my veins
