I see the sun rise in the sky
The reflection framed in my eyes
The fire burning in my heart
Set for my life to start
I am finally feeling good
Feeling just the way I should
I’m not afraid to admit it now
I’m happy though I can’t say how
I’m not in denial anymore
I only wish I realized before
Even living in black and white
You can paint your world bright
If you just let go of the past
If you just let the feeling last
You can still cry and still be sad
Just let the good overrule the bad
Have fun when you have the chance
Don’t sit down get up and dance
I’ve experienced a revolution
And therefore this is my resolution
I have come to a new point of view
I dedicate this philosophy to you
I don’t feel bad for feeling good
I can feel like this and always could

Jennie, this is just an awesome poem. I love it! This poem is just so full of life and confidence and hope. And so well written. I'm trying to think about what parts of the poem I like best, but they are equally fantastic! It is such a good poem, and there is also good avice in it, like:
If you just let go of the past
If you just let the feeling last
You can still cry and still be sad
Just let the good overrule the bad
Adversity will come, but with this attitude gets you through it. For you, personally, I like the last:
I don’t feel bad for feeling good
I can feel like this and always could
That is something I have always wanted you to feel since I have met you. Bravo! Bravo! I could not be happier for you and this poem!

I have never heard the sound of the sun on a rose.
Not until today when I read this poem

Great work!
Holding wisdom and joy, that is often hidden, and yet is revealed to hearts that truly see.
I'm glad to read a positive write, which is rare among the poems here. |
