Too Many Times

Contributed by Jaycee on Saturday, 28th May 2005 @ 08:44:04 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Too many times I could not cope
Too many times I just lost hope
Too many times I'd sit back and mope
Too many times I did not see

Lacking in faith I did not believe
No trust in me I could not achieve
Going on a date I could not conceive
Too many times I wouldn't be me

So many times I ran away
So many times I cried not today
So many times my feelings I'd slay
Too many times from life I did flee

Joining the workforce was full of pain
Interacting with others drive me insane
Trying to understand gave me a migraine
Too many times I lived inadequately

In recent times I'd speak the final goodbye
In recent times I got ready to die
In recent times I reached for an ally
Too many times my soul was droopy

Locating solutions was hard to find
Looking for others when I was so blind
Wanting good company I did not mind
Too many times I was too dizzy

Having found YPDC was worth the wait
Having friends like Jennie* and Kara** is really great
Having confidence is really first rate
Now in these times I live happily

** and Kylie et al

I think this is a splendid coming out of yourself poem. We all have a certain lack of faith in ourselves and writing, whether it be poetry or stories or even just a diary gives us a place to put those feelings until we are strong enough to come back and look at them and deal with them. This site and many others have helped so many people. Personally, this site is MY favorite but to each his own. This is a great great poem. I hope others recognize what you are saying here and how it and people helped you. Rita
