Through the big oak doors,
I walked into church,
Down the isle,
To take a seat.
I sat and smiled for I knew you weren’t really gone,
I sat and smiled for I felt your presence,
I sat watching with a smile so that you could see,
I smiled for you so you could smile at me.
Although you were gone inside I still felt you,
Although you were gone I felt you hold me,
For the last time before you were truly gone,
You whisper ill never leave you,
It felt so clear.
People sit here and cry for you only brings you sadness,
You have gone to a better place where you’ll never see tears,
You’ll always see happiness,
Down here on earth ill keep this smile for you,
As you smiled at me on your deathbed,
Followed by a whisper of I love you.
