Warning Signs

Contributed by Willofree on Friday, 27th May 2005 @ 09:24:34 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

We used to converse,
But we don't any more
Have we nothing to say
Are we drifting away

Rarely seem to engage in quality time together
Always seem to fall asleep watching television
It's analogous to being complete strangers
Perhaps we are bored with one another

There is little romance or passion
Our sex life is nearly nonexistent
Intimacy has practically disappeared
Where do we navigate from here

Is there something to salvage
Has our love totally vanished
Our relationship feels so platonic,
Taking each other for granted

Are we just coasting and drifiting apart
Nothing much seems to emanate from the heart
You have more communication with others it seems
Whereas with us, our functioning feels routine

Do we acknowledge this challenge right now today
Or do we just ignore it, and pretend the problem goes away
The future of our relationship is at stake
If you are concerned at all, I suggest we rejuvenate

people walk different ways sometimes, but there is only a few times where the paths converge. this isnt one of your best, but still good nonetheless.

Relationships do eventually change from what they were in the beginning. Some just totally fade away and some readjust to a comfortable friendship/love with occasional lustful flareup. You do have to work hard to keep it alive and going. Sometimes life is just too busy and stressful.

This is good, and boy have I ever been there!! I can really relate to this...It's sad too, like you're stuck in a rut, you don't know how to get out, not sure how you two got there...Yet afraid to move on, to someone new, cause you're so 'comfortable' with the current beau...I feel for ya, and I hope it all works out for the better for you.
