Come Fly Away

Contributed by Rakerman1999 on Friday, 27th May 2005 @ 08:24:05 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Come fly away with me my sweet
On cotton clouds our souls will meet
Two lonesome hearts as one will beat
Forevermore upon the skies

As spirit lovers shall we dance
Eternally in true romance
We'll take this one and only chance
To dwell within each others eyes

The moon will laugh and stars will smile
The sun will wish it had our style
With Angels singing all the while
A serenade of love in rhyme

And happy tears will fall as rain
Forgotten, all the worldly pain
So high above this mortal plain
To dance until the end of time

L. Carling c2005

Beautiful writing, if I was a woman you would have swept me off my feet with this one. (thinking about it, retract that last statement!)
Excellent work.

I just really like your poetic style... it is so poetic :) The imagery is so enticing with a beautiful flow and rhythum. It is as if put together out of spun glass, so delicate and fancy...so magical.

Super job, sir

Will

Even in my extremely tired state I can tell that
this was an awesome and beautiful poem.
The rhyme scheme was art in its highest
form and really added to the overall allure (or
whatever you want to call it) of the poem. I
think the third stanza stood out to me the
most specifically how the moon, stars, and
sun, respectively, were personified.

Originally I chose the title of your poem due to old memories of dancing with my father to Sinatra's "Come fly with me lets fly lets fly away". Big smile here, wonderful memories.

Now back to your poem.

You have such depth, spirit and a pen that makes our mind envision the greatest of romances.

I think I can safely say that you WRITE WHAT WE LOVE TO READ. *Note* I shouted that with a southern twang.

I'm glad you're here L. Truly.
