Night falls on a broken heart once again
Binding it with the memories of the past
Tears pouring from the eyes like rain
Wondering how long this time it will last.
Was searching for a friend and a lover
Opened your heart up and let them in
Only to find they were one but not the other
Now the tears are falling yet again.
You’re falling into yourself more and more
Waiting for the light to shine on you again
In your heart just another closed door
Your mind and your body wont let another one in

Again, Suzy, this one touched a cord. We're a generation apart ...I'm old enuf to be your mom...and, yet, we seem to be leading parallel lives. I, too, searched and found, let him in and ended up with a "friend"... and NOT a very good one. Keep the poems coming. You're saying everything I'd like to say, but are so much better at it.

Excellent! I loved your poem. It's very deep and emotional. The worst thing about it is that it's damn true! |
