Who knows what they can persuade us to do
Those people you hold a place for
Maybe you'll change your look, yourself, your everything
Just so they'll notice, just so they'll care
Get a boost of self confidence knowing that they saw you today
knowing that deep down they know your name
An inner feeling compelled by the way you are
maybe even the way you used to be
But then, have you really changed?
You still like them, but does it matter in the end?
To far, to long, wasted on someone other than yourself
all so they could leave you
But a memory remains, but only a memory remains
Who knows how long until your next meeting....
Atleast you hope you'll meet again....
Someday could be the best day
You'll see the one who tantalized you,
made you ravenous for another glance
That's right,
the one who turned you into who you are, what you are today
The reason why you aren't so shy
or the shoe collection in there closed could be all their fault
It happens to everyone, so don't resist
Change if you must to get the one you long for
Remember who you once were
And never forget the one who could persuade you
The silent persuader of all our dreams
Whether or not they know it,
maybe they've changed you forever
