The Monster in My Bed

Contributed by pUnKa_RaCh on Thursday, 26th May 2005 @ 08:50:14 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Night falls
Of this time I am afraid
Of sleepless creatures
Causing my dreams to fade

Sleep does escape
Deprivation is all I know
As it flees my blood-shot eyes
My soul it does forgo

Oh no….
I can feel HER beneath my skin
She lingers
Behind the light
Flowing through my fingers

It is within
This darksome hour
I silently pray for…
Refuge
Salvation
As depression does devour

Here she comes
The one who begs for death
The suicidal girl
The one who cuts herself
While seeing her life unfurl

Enclosing darkness
That sinks into these veins
While I lay with
-The monster in my bed-
*********
Along with the bloody stains
*******

If I'm not mistaken, this 'monster' is the narrator, or a part of the narrator's mind. The sense of feeling and touch in this poem is very strong, espcecially in the lines 'I can feel HER beneath my skin
She lingers
Behind the light
Flowing through my fingers'
excellent job, well done.

Wow....good write. Very dark but still incredibly well written. May you sleep with peace tonight!

As always, a good write, but dark. Stay strong and keep battling that demon; you don't have to give in this time....*hugs*
