Miami Shore

Contributed by Pisces101 on Wednesday, 25th May 2005 @ 03:16:07 PM in AEST
Topic: toughstuff

She grabs his wrist to pull him near
The look in his eye brought nothing but fear
She knew she had it comin
The loud music wouldnt let him hear

I love you

He walked ahead and cursed her name
The crowd would not let her do the same
She knew she had it comin
So she shut the hell up and played his game

I love you

The rain sprinkled as he waved a cab
Her makeup melted when the ocean air turned bad
She knew she had it comin
So she held her tears back

I love you

He called the airlines to send her home
All she had was her mother on the phone
She new she had it comin
She kneeled and prayed alone

I love him

A slap on the face, a shove to the floor
She sobbed as he told her he loved her no more
She knew it was gone.
All of her dreams were washed away by the Miami shore.

I loved him

wow... this is like one of those teen movies just not as boring and the ending is 100 times sadder... its a shame that alcohol does this to some people... some people couldn't be more fun to be around while some get violent and some get horridly honest.... i myself get sad and depressed if i drink too much, i get to the point where i'm happy and stop because I know one more drink and i'm not gonna wanna talk to anyone, i could win the lottery and drink too much and it'll seem like my family and all my friends died that day.. I like looking deeper into poems a lot and the line 'Her makeup melted when the ocean air turned bad' reminds me of running mascara from the rain in the line before or from tears... maybe not, but it seemed thats what i got from it anyway... and whether people get honest when they are drunk or just say things they think is true, either way they still say things they shouldn't have... but i wish you luck on your next boyfriend, and i hope he isn't like this guy...

keep up the good writes

This is a sad poem, and I think I've dated the same guy! *smiles* Honestly, don't be sad by the loss, know one deserves to be hurt that way---physically OR emotionally. I hope you find someone deserving of your love....

A very sad and eye opening poem! I thought it was quite a twist of style to "I love you" between the pain of the verses. It was very strong and visual.. so thanks for sharing it. Keep your head high!! dw
