Dream A Little

Contributed by OrangeFlamingo on Tuesday, 24th May 2005 @ 11:00:57 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

Dreams can make your heart skip a beat
But at the same time make you lose your feet
You can get lost in an endless fall
Or ride a boat to a place that is really not a place at all
The journeys are endless and complete darkness is rare
There is never a dull moment or time to spare
Swim through the sky or fly beneath the ocean
Leave this world and all of its earthly commotion
Whirlpools of love and emotion suck you up
There is confusion but nothing is currupt
Put yourself in another's mind
There is no telling what you may find
When you open your eyes the adventures flee
Everyday, this unwelcome demise greets me

Dreams are our tunnel to “somewhere”. I’ve read most of your journal and several poems. You have a good sense for details and descriptive wording in everything you write. You do seem to be a dreamer looking for that happy “somewhere”, ‘Someone’, or ‘Something’ on which to hang your hat. If you haven’t yet found it, maybe if you reversed direction and looked behind you for a spell you could change everything. Happiness is found in the most unusual places. As you, so aptly say in your above poem; “Dreams can make your heart skip a beat” and later, “There is no telling what you may find”. With your awareness, what have you got to lose? I like your talent and will continue to read and follow your progress.

Welcome to the site! It is filled with wonderful people and I hope you have a great time whenever you visit here!
That said, your poem is going. For a beginner, I would advise that you keep writing. As with all things the more you do, the better you become. Posting the first poem, I think, is the hardest...so you've mastered that!

Good write overall, sometimes the rhymes seem a little forced but overall I think a good write and definatly a good subject.

Thanks for sharing!
Carol
